Hadsell Collection
Clinton B. Hadsell worked at the Climax Fuse Company (later became Ensign Bickford Company) as foreman and inspector. Hadsell was born in Avon, CT on November 12, 1871, Son of Samuel Hadsell and Jane Bradley (Marcy) Hadsell. He was chief inspector at the Avon plant until his retirement in 1927 following an auto accident.

Towpath School was built in 1879 as two rooms. Two more rooms and an office were added in 1920 and again in 1927. It is now the Avon School Administrative Offices.

The Prince Thomas of Savoy Society was officially founded in March 1917. There were 50 founding fathers, all of which emigrated from northern Italy shortly after the turn of the century.
