Show moreNew York Asylum, Poughkeepsie NY Oct. 22, 1899 The Hudson River State Hospital was built in 1868-1871. was formerly a psychiatric hospital which operated from 1873 until its close in the early 2000s. Landscape architects were Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvin Vaux. Today the site, a National Historic Landmark, is abandoned. Captioned by Nora Howard, Avon Town Historian, Summer 2020.
