Show moreView of saltbox style house taken from the front right angle. First floor windows are boarded up and broken panes visible in the attic story. Some white paint has been applied to the rear of the right side, but the job appears unfinished. The verso of the photograph indicates that the house was building in 1670 by Joseph Clay, but other sources have the date as 1690. The origin of the house's name is a local legend that Acadians were quartered here in 1755 after their expulsion from Acadia. Show less
