My Dear Brother,
Mother says that I “must” write, and when a letter to you is the subject in question, her word is as the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not. I would write you a long letter if I thought you had any title to it. There was a splendid fair here the 2nd July. When you have told me about Boston, I will tell you about the fair. If you do not write soon, you must not expect to hear again from your neglected sister.
Farmington, July 21st 1835.

Goodbye.
N.B. I am not angry.
