Show moreAt the left is the brownstone Soldiers and Sailors Monument with two round towers and a sculptured frieze. Spectators line Trinity Street and the bridge over the Park River. The parade includes men on horseback and marching units. Banners hang from poles along the street. Two horse-drawn carriages are in Bushnell Park at the right. Tents are pitched at the foot of the hill beneath the Connecticut State Capitol building. Some of the trees appear to be elms. Inscribed on back: "Dedication of Soldiers / Monument / Hartford / Conn." "Geo. E. Carter / 1886." Show less
