The arch has round gothic towers and a sculptured frieze. The Park River bordered by a stone retaining wall and an embankment is in the foreground. Commercial and industrial buildings and the steeples of two churches are in the distance. A building at the left has a sign that reads: "Monuments." A large tent and a fountain are in the park in the background. Several trees appear to be elms.
