Description
Dirt road crosses a stone bridge with a round tower with a tile roof. A stone on the left is inscribed: "In Memoriam / Capt. / Thomas Tibbals / obit 1703 / In consideration of his / Helpfulness ... / ... to Milford to .... / First comers the.... / Land Records." A second inscription is on the base of the tower. Utility poles and wires line the road. Two lamp posts are at the end of the bridge. Frame houses with outbuildings are on the far bank. Some houses have dormers, louvered shutters, porches, mansard roofs. A vertical-boarded structure at the far right has peeling broadsides posted on it. One of these posters reads: "New Haven Bill..." Trees include leafless elm trees and hemlocks. Inscribed on back: "The Bridge / looking southerly / towards center of town" "Milford, Conn." "Camp Store seventh / on the right. Platt store last / one on the left."
