The drawing includes only the disc of the mirror itself with the crouching figure of the god Mars, who is depicted as a nude man holding a sword and wearing a helmet. The polished back of the disc could be used as a mirror. Mars was the Roman god of war. The base of the mirror incorporated the figures of Venus and Cupid. The date of the mirror is unknown. It may date from the mid-1980s. However, Weinberg was making small figurative sculptures incorporating mirrors as early as the 1960s. Show less
