The nursing home embodied a non-denominational, non-sectarian concept of complete care for the elderly conceived and brought to fruition by the Christian Activities Council through its subsidiary, Church Homes, In., and the following sponsoring churches: Asylum Hill Congregational Church, Hartford; Center Congregational Church, Hartford; First Church of Christ, West Hartford; Immanuel Congregational Church, Hartford; South Congregational Church, Hartford. Approximate date is based on dating of automobiles. Postcard is one of the items in the Richard Mahoney Collection, which contains postcards depicting Hartford and the surrounding areas.
