R N C May 1923 with photo print. Pope Park is also identified with this view. Wellington extends north to Hamilton Street and Pope Park. According to History of Hartford Streets, by F. Perry Close, Wellington was extended south to Brookfield Street (across the south branch of the Park River), per a layout of 1925. The 1939 map of city wards corroborates this extension. Wellington Street south of the river was renamed Saybrooke Street in 1941. Current maps do not show any road over the river, and indicate that Wellington extends south only as far as Olive Street.
