Two clergy members stand in front of the canopy, possibly reviewing the parade that is part of the Blessing of the Fleet ceremonies.

Title supplied by cataloger. Based in Stonington Borough, the Stonington fleet is the only remaining commercial fishing fleet in Connecticut. Fishing has been a mainstay of the community's economy since the eighteenth century. In earlier years, whaling, sealing and cod fishing supported area residents. The present fishing fleet pursues a diversified approach not dependent on a single type of catch. The Blessing of the Fleet takes place annually. Dated July 1995. Probably the parade review area in front of St. Mary's.
