Show moreThe COVID-19 virus that spread over the world in early 2020 was not the first epidemic which Connecticut had to address. In the 20th century alone there were two epidemics, an extensive one in 1918-1919, called the Spanish Influenza, and another smaller outbreak in 1957, known as the Asiatic flu. More recently, we have responded to threats from Ebola and Zika. The documents and images in this collection are taken from a variety of Record Groups in the Connecticut State Archives to illustrate Connecticut’s response to public health threats in the recent past.
