    My Dear wife as I have achance to send you afew lines to Let you know that I am well at present + I hope these will find you all well I have a desire to get home now I wold Like to have you send me a word if you can get me home for their is plenty of the Boyes getting furlowes By telling that some of their Folkes are very sick + they Can get furlowes abby I have heard from Henry + John By Mr Joseph Barker he belonged to the same regement that henry + John is in their are in the 11th US heavy artillery their in Fort Jacson Louisiana + their capt name is meetcalf this Joseph Barker was in Co,,C + Henry +
