One-story wood and stone factory buildings with tall brick smokestack. Fuel or water tanks are behind a wall on right of smokestack. In the center, two women sit on stone rubble between dirt road and masonry wall. Farm on hillside in background has house on right, barn on left and fields enclosed with rail fences and stone walls. Inscription on back: "After the fire at Washington Mill / S. Coventry, Conn." " A. M. Wood"
