Show moreView of the 1979 Holocaust Memorial by Elbert Weinberg on Freedom Plaza in Wilmington, Delaware. The overall concrete monument is fifteen feet high. The bronze figures are six feet high. The figure visible in this photograph represents a Concentration Camp victim. The other figures represent the Warsaw Resistance and hope for the Future. Lettering on the vertical elements reads “Dachau” and “Auschwitz.” Leafless trees and a modern building are in the background. The monument was commissioned by Jewish Federation of Delaware and was dedicated on December 2, 1979.The photograph was probably taken shortly after the dedication of the monument in 1979. Show less
