The Community Center and the 1981 Holocaust Memorial by Elbert Weinberg are in the background. The memorial is in the form of two huge arms holding aloft a shofar. The configuration resembles the symbol for the Hebrew word chai, which means alive, or living. The monument is made of Corten steel and is eighteen feet high. The photograph appears to have been taken about the time of the dedication of the sculpture in October 1981. Show less
