Two boys, identified as Jorge San Migual and Carlos Velez, are engaged in an activity as part of a summer recreation activity at First Church House on Gold Street, Hartford, August 7, 1974. Caption clipping on reverse reads: "Summer Fun in the City", "Youngsters in the area served by the Center City Churches, from Christ Church Cathedral to the South Green, attend daily sessions of recreation and tutoring operated by Center City Churches. These youngsters meet every day in the First Church House on Gold Street with their teacher Maxine Ware. At left, completing a planter made with tongue depressors is Jo Ann Cheney, 7 [this description is for a different photo that appears to have been used as part of the same article]. Upper photo shows Jorge San Migual, 7, and Carlos Velez, 6, making vases by covering bottles with yarn." Stamped on reverse, in addition to the date: "[HARTFORD TIMES PHOTO] By ELLERY G. KINGTON".
