Information on the back reads: "Old State House, Hartford, Connecticut, Designed in 1792 by Charles Bulfinch, this National Landmark is a distinguished example of federal architecture. The State Capitol until 1879 and Hartford City Hall until 1920, the restored building, open daily, now serves as a museum of Connecticut culture and history." The three-story Federal style brick government building with a domed cupola with a clock and a sculpture of an allegorical figure of justice on top has a balustrade that surrounds the roof. Doric columns support a pediment over a second-story porch, supported by three arches. The Old State House, erected in 1796 following designs by Charles Bulfinch, served as one of Connecticut's two state capitols until 1878 when it was replaced by the current Capitol Building. From 1878 to 1915, it served as Hartford's city hall. It was restored in 1920 and again in 1977." Show less
