Mystic Seaport
Title supplied by cataloger. The Brinckerhoff was built in Newburgh, New York, 1899, for ferry service across the Hudson River (through 1941) from Peekskill to Highland, New York. From 1943-1949 she was a Bridgeport-based ferry owned by the city of Bridgeport. Information related to this image identifies the Brinckerhoff as a Groton-New London ferry, which appears to be an error. Dating of image is based on service in Bridgeport. Photograph may document her Hudson River service.
