Description: Ellery Thompson lies on a sofa in his living room (probably in Mystic) playing his trumpet. One of his paintings, depicting a clipper ship, hangs over the sofa.
Note: Title supplied by cataloger. Mystic-born Ellery Thompson was a fisherman, artist and writer. He captained draggers out of Stonington for a number of years. Thompson was a local celebrity, noted for his paintings, storytelling and writings, which included Draggerman's Haul (1950) a memoir of his maritime adventures.
