A ring can be seen on the third finger of his right hand. She wears a plaid shirtwaist with a light colored stock and a dark skirt, and is holding a rose. A ring is visible on the third finger of her left hand.

Title supplied by cataloger. Plate slightly damaged along right side. George Victor Grinnell was from the local 19th-century shipbuilding family and grew up in Mystic. He was an accomplished musician who at one time had his own orchestra, and taught violin at Connecticut College. He was also a well-known local artist and active member of the Mystic Art Association. He married Eva Collins of Mystic in 1904.
