Description
<title render="italic">La Azucena: Revista Quincenal, Dedicada a los Amantes de las Ciencias, Letras y Especialmente Al Bello Sexo</title>, was a literary magazine for women with a special emphasis to cover such topics as sciences, local and world literature from England, Germany, France, and United States, edited by the renowned Puerto Rican writer, Alejandro Tapia y Rivera. Published in two phases, 1870-1871 and 1874-1877, this magazine’s mission was to bring educational topics in the sciences (medicine, astronomy, geography) and humanities (literature, history, and grammar) to its feminine audience. The UConn Library digitized our current holdings (1874-1877). The digitized images show the original material and the conservation work that was done to preserve it for future generations. The PDF files are keyword searchable.
