Description
Bird's-eye view of a large industrial city. The Congregational and Baptist Churches face Central Park, a small triangular park in the center of town. The South Congregational Church and the Baptist Church are nearby. Commercial buildings and houses, including factory housing, line the streets. Large factories with smokestacks are scattered throughout the city. These include Russell & Erwin Manufacturing Co. (manufacturers of house builder and other hardware), Landers, Frary & Clark (manufacturers of cutlery and general hardware), P. & F. Corbin (manufacturers of miscellaneous hardware), and the Stanley Works. Walnut Hill Park, with a circular pool, winding paths, and grassy lawns, is in the foreground. The tracks and station of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad are at the left.
