Photograph of A.S. Middlebrook, his wife, and others in a horse drawn carriage. Middlebrook sits with the reins in his hands, wearing a bowler hat. His wife is to the right, with what looks like a very elaborate bow on top of her own hat. The other two individuals in the photograph are unidentified. The carriage is drawn by two horses and they sit outside of a stable or barn. Arthur S. Middlebrook (December 31, 1853-June 26, 1895) worked as an agent pf P.T. Barnum became the treasurer of the Barnum and Bailey circus in October 1893. He also helped to manage the circus winter quarters in Bridgeport, which was where the circus equipment and animals were stored when the circus ceased to travel during the winter months. No photographer is named and no date is given. Measures 4.5 by 5.5 inches.
