Description
Frame center-chimney saltbox house. The rear saltbox portion is in dilapidated condition. A dog stands on the stone step of the side door. A shrub, possibly a lilac bush, grows near the left corner. Two vertical-sided outbuildings at the left are probably barns or sheds. A stone wall is in the foreground. Ropes, possibly clotheslines, extend from the house to a tree at the right. Inscribed on back: "John Brown's Birthplace / Torrington, Conn./ Burned about / 1919."
