Title supplied by cataloger. The Thames River railroad bridge opened in October 1889. The ferry is identified as possibly the Uncas. There were two such vessels. The first was built by Hill & Grinnell, Mystic, 1872, but had been renamed the Oneco in 1878 and spent her later years in New York. The second Uncas was built circa 1891. Taken by Everett A. Scholfield, a professional photographer who worked primarily in Mystic and New London from 1865-1913.
