Description
This deed was a record of sale for a small parcel of land that P.T. Barnum and his wife Charity Barnum had sold to a relative by the name of Ephraim D. Barnum, located in Bethel, Connecticut. The land, which amounted to about one half acre, was sold for 125 dollars. P.T. Barnum and Charity Barnum both signed the deed, along with F. Hitchcock and Jas W. Hale as witnesses. The deed was dated by Jas W. Hale, the commisioner of Connecticut, as January 8th, 1864. The deed itself was received and recorded by the Bethel Land Records on January 29th, 1864. From the P.T.
