View of a two cars virtually demolished after a crash on I-84, South Windsor, September 19, 1972. Caption clipping on reverse reads: "Occupants of these two autos jumped free yesterday afternoon before the gasoline tanks caught fire and exploded following crash on I-84 in South Windsor. Twenty volunteer firemen from Manchester Eighth District unit brought the blaze under control in about 20 minutes. State Police report that the crash occurred when a truck collided with a car driven by Joseph O'Shaughnessy of West Hartford, which, in turn pushed into a car driven by a Havertown, Pa. woman. The truck driver has been charged with following too close." "By Einar G. Chindmark, chief photographer". Written on reverse: "Acc & Fat [Accidents and Fatalities] : MV [Motor Vehicles] - I-84".
