Description
Marina, Barnum's 4th house in Bridgeport, being torn down by the New England Building demolition. Photograph is dated July 26, 1961. The building was on the University of Bridgeport campus. Shows giant crane in front of torn down exterior and interior walls spanning several floors. Marina was built for Barnum?s much younger second wife, Nancy Fish Barnum, and featured a more up to date layout and modern amenities within. It was designed by Bridgeport architects Longstaff and Hurd, who did a number of other buildings in Bridgeport as well.
