Description
Basalt pecked stone plummet from Black Point, Niantic, Connecticut. Plummets such as this were manufactured throughout the Archaic period. Most date to the Late and terminal Archaic Periods, ca. 6000 - 2700 BP. They were most likely used as fishing weights for line fishing.
