Description
Crowd of men, women, boys, and girls line both banks of a stream. Several people use umbrellas as parasols. A man, probably a minister, and a woman in a white dress, stand in the water that is almost up to their waists. Lily pads and other aquatic plants float in the water. A grassy bank is in the foreground. A stone wall, possibly part of a mill dam or sluice way, is in the background. Several horse-drawn carriages are on a road beyond. Inscribed on back: "Annie M. Bitgood / Sterling, CT?"
