Marina, Barnum's 4th house in Bridgeport, being torn down by the New England Building demolition. Photograph is dated July 26, 1961. The building was on the University of Bridgeport campus. A large demolition crane appears in the back, left of the image near a portion of Marina's roof while the facade of a modern, 20th Century building is visible in the foreground. Marina was built for Barnum?s much younger second wife, Nancy Fish Barnum, and featured a more up to date layout and modern amenities within. It was designed by Bridgeport architects Longstaff and Hurd, who did a number of other buildings in Bridgeport as well.
