Description
You've heard of #colorourcollections, where archives and libraries post black and white coloring pages of their favorite objects for everyone to print out and color in - but why not take it a step further and #playwithourcollections? This is a to scale reproduction of one of the Barnum Museum's paper doll sets, published in about 1863 by the McLaughlin Brothers. The paper doll set of General Tom Thumb (Charles Stratton) included many costumes, showing the many characters he performed while on stage We've provided a small sampling of some of Charles' most famous costumes in this set - Napoleon and a Scottish Highlander! The Barnum Museum highly recommends printing this page on cardstock for a more durable paper doll. Using scissors, carefully cut out the figure and garments, being sure to cut around the small tabs. Then fold the tabs toward the back so you can fit the garment onto the figure.
