Watrous, all bell manufacturers. Other industries include Merrick & Conant, silk thread manufacturers -- East Hampton Silver Plate Co. -- H.E. Niles, manufacturer of coffin trimmings -- George A. Strong, carriage manufacturer -- F.A. Dietzel, wagonmaker -- and Samuel Skinner, box manufacturer. Businesses include H. Skinner & Co., a gristmill -- C.O. Sears and H.G. Clark, general stores -- F.H. Barton, groceries -- and F.S. Hall, a market. Churches include the First and Second Congregational Churches, a Methodist Church, and a Roman Catholic Church. The public school, the town hall and the post office are located in the center of town near the junction of Main Street and Barton Street.
