Description
Black and white photograph showing a tugboat steaming through Bridgeport Harbor. The boat's name was the Ruth MacDonald and she was operated by the Bridgeport Towing Line. In fact, the boat was named for the owner of the company, Ruth MacDonald Allen, a former news reporter. The company operated two other tugs, the Sam Gregory and the Easton. In May 1947, the Ruth MacDonald sank at the Bridgeport Towing Line's wharf and the company went out of business several months later.
