Description
A conical dry stone monument with an inlaid polished plaque. The plaque reads "Here stood the fort of Uncas, Sachem of the Mohegans and friend of the English. Here in 1645 when besieged by the Narragansetts, he was relieved by the bravery of Lieut. Thomas Leffingwell, Erected by the Connecticut Society of Colonial Dames, 1898.
