Description |
Description
Large chert biface from Simsbury, Connecticut. Large bifaces such as this may have been used as knives, but could also have been used as preforms from which more formal tools were manufactured. Some may have been produced specifically as easily transported trade blanks. The gray chert is likely a variety of Onondaga chert from western New York.
