Description
Side view of wooden bridge with windows, stone abutments and concrete central pier over shallow, rocky, river bed. This one lane covered bridge still exists today (2003) on Route 128 in West Cornwall. Once called Hart's Bridge (as was the town), it was probably built over the Housatonic River in 1864 to replace an earlier bridge at this same site. Its length is sometimes given as 172 feet and other times as 242 feet.
