View of gravestones in the Ancient Burying Ground, Hartford. The seventeenth-century Ancient Burying Ground is the oldest historic site in Connecticut and is where the earliest residents of Hartford were interred. The cemetery is located at Gold and Main Streets, behind the First Church of Christ (First Congregational, or Center Church).
