Description
A small boy wearing knickers, boots and a hat stands on a dirt road in front of the stone exterior wall of Newgate Prison. The square corner tower partially constructed of brick is probably a guard tower. One of the trees in the background near the arched entrance to the prison appears to be a larch. The tree at the far right near a frame building appears to be a chestnut. A sign on the board fence at the far left reads: "... House Tariffville Three Miles."
