Description |
Description
View of the partially demolished Wood Building on the northwest corner of Church and George Streets, New Haven. View is looking southwest. The first three floors of the building are empty, but substantially intact, with demolished sections visible above. Signs for Allen's Cut Rate Store are partially visible behind scaffolding screened by doors. Signs for Howard's Shoes, Nankin's and James [Bros.] can be seen above the storefronts of a one-story commercial building facing on Church Street to the right. Signs in the windows indicate that Howard's Shoes has moved to the Downtown Shopping Triangle at 118 George Street and that Nankin's has moved to College Plaza.
