Description
Painting of an American Car and Foundry Talgo lightweight articulated train, by George Bedford. This painting hung in the office of Patrick B. McGinnis, who served as President of the New Haven Railroad from April 1954 to January 1956. McGinnis proposed buying Talgo trains, which were designed in Spain, for the New Haven Railroad. They were tested in June 1954 but proved unsuccessful. McGinnis's wife Lucille apparently commissioned the painting at the time of the testing.
