Slate ovate atl-atl (spear thrower) weight from Preston, Connecticut. The delicately incised stone has been carefully drilled down its length. Spear thrower weights with this form have been associated with the Late Archaic Period Narrow Stem Tradition and likely date between ca. 5000 - 4000 BP.
