Description
Men are at work on a railroad track bed, probably in Hartford, December 15, 1956. Rails that are not yet in place can be seen on either side of the rail bed. A man in the foreground is wielding a pickaxe. The date and activity suggest that this may be one of a number of photographs in Box 2, Folder 9 that depict the same accident on the Park Street bridge, Hartford, identified in the description in one of the photos (hpl_hhc_ht_b002_f09_33-34) as the derailment of the New Haven Railroad Ambassador train en route to Montreal. Stamped on reverse, in addition to date: "HARTFORD TIMES PHOTO MORTON J. BOARDMAN PHOTOGRAPHER".
