Description
Harper's Monthly review of P.T. Barnum's autobiography. There are two different reviews: one that runs from page 813-814 and one that is on page 517. The date is unknown. P.T. Barnum wrote two autobiographies: The Life of P.T. Barnum (1855) and Struggles and Triumphs (1869 and updated every so often). They got mixed reviews, with some outlets seeing the books as trashy and insipid, others loved it. Either way, they sold in great numbers, and helped to promote Barnum as an individual. Harper's Monthly, from about 1867.
