Description
This banded slate single-hole pendant with incised end was found at East Windsor Hill, South Windsor, Connecticut. Single-hole pendants are typically associated wit the early Woodland period in the Northeast. They are relatively uncommon and may reflect prestige items worn only by some individuals. The slate used to manufacture this item would have come from outside of Connecticut, perhaps from eastern Massachusetts.
