Description
Two and half story Georgian colonial house with Doric-columned porch. Later additions are attached to both sides off the house, including a substantial porched addition on the right side.The house, also called the Oliver Wolcott house, was built in 1753 by Oliver Wolcott Sr., a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation and a Connecticut governor. Two other inhabitants of the house, his father Roger and his son Oliver Jr. also served as Connecticut governor. The house was visited by George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette.
